Cacti At First Light

40″H x 45″W, cotton fiber, stitched. Sleeve on back for hanging.

Statement: At dawns first light, the prickly pear thrives, stretching forth to the sun’s rays. New pads are constantly exposing even as the light changes throughout the day. Using a reverse applique technique allows me to play with differing shades of green as the daylight progresses.
