Remember San Antonio, TEXtiles, Debra Goley displays three fiber art

Debra at the hemisphere fair grounds. April 6-8, 2018, marks fifty years since the 1968 World’s Fair came to San Antonio. I am pretty sure I was here then, right Dad?

A month to celebrate, a month to reflect, a  month to experience many emotions. My travels last month to TEXtiles annual SAQA conference in San Antonio was for certain a new experience, meeting new people, having my work critiqued by Judith Trager and MANY(a room of 50 ) others, enjoying talks from Meg Cox and Jane Dunnewold were just a few of my highlights. I was able to stay with Carol Esch in a familiar town that is dear to me having gone to high school here. And I was able to share a meal with Tammie Burns Patio, high school friend, and hike the mission grounds with Susan Parish from Bay City.

2 min Speed networking night on the San Antonio River Walk. I confess, we spent more than 2 min chatting away!

Friend Carol shares a refreshing drink with me at the end of river walk, after the conference. We were winding down.

Me and my art “Cells” , fiber, 26 x 27, being critiqued at a scheduled session by Judith Trager and the room. I had no idea i had to speak! Thank you Tammie for brunch beforehand. I believe I was calm having just having had great time with you.
